Lobby for Good (LFG) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to that information. By using the LFG platform you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and any profile information you choose to add. When you become a member, your payment is processed by Donorbox - LFG does not store your payment card details.

We collect information about how you use the platform, including pages visited, tools used, and actions taken. This helps us improve the platform and understand what civic content is most useful to our community.

If you submit a civic issue or tip, we collect the information you provide in that submission, including any contact details. Anonymous submissions are stored without identifying information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and improve the LFG platform and its features; manage your membership account; send you civic briefings, newsletters, and platform updates you have opted into; respond to your enquiries and submissions; and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Sharing Your Information

We may share your information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the platform, including Donorbox (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), and Manus (platform infrastructure). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to provide services to LFG.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of LFG, our members, or the public.

5. Cookies and Analytics

The LFG platform uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and collect anonymised usage analytics. Analytics data helps us understand how the platform is used and improve our civic tools. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect platform functionality.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes.

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if it is inaccurate. You may also request that we delete your information, subject to our legal obligations.

The LFG platform is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify members of material changes by email or through the platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
