1. About Lobby for Good

Lobby for Good (LFG) is an independent civic journalism and public interest research platform operating in New Zealand. LFG provides civic intelligence tools, investigations, briefings, and community engagement features to help New Zealanders understand and engage with local and national government. LFG is not affiliated with any political party, government agency, or commercial organisation.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the LFG platform, creating an account, or becoming a member, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. We may update these terms from time to time and will notify members of material changes.

3. Membership

LFG offers five membership tiers: Foundation, Insight, Voice, Momentum, and Sustainer. Membership fees are charged monthly in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and processed securely by Donorbox. By becoming a member you agree to the Donorbox terms of service in addition to these terms.

Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. You may cancel your membership at any time through your Donorbox account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

LFG reserves the right to modify membership tiers, pricing, and included features with reasonable notice to members. We will endeavour to provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes to pricing.

4. Content and Copyright

All content published on the LFG platform - including investigations, briefings, ebooks, newsletters, tools, and data - is copyright © Lobby for Good unless otherwise stated. Content may not be reproduced, distributed, republished, or used commercially without prior written permission from LFG.

You may share links to LFG content and quote brief excerpts for commentary or educational purposes, provided you attribute LFG as the source. For licensing enquiries, contact [email protected].

6. Civic Submissions

When you submit a civic issue or tip to LFG, you confirm that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge. LFG may investigate, publish, or refer submissions at its sole discretion. Submissions that are found to be false, misleading, or made in bad faith may be disregarded. LFG will protect the identity of anonymous submitters to the extent permitted by law.

7. Community Lobbies and Petitions

Members may create community lobbies and petitions on the LFG platform. By creating or signing a lobby, you confirm that your submission is genuine and that you are who you say you are. LFG reserves the right to remove lobbies that are false, abusive, discriminatory, or contrary to our editorial values. LFG does not guarantee that any lobby will result in a particular outcome.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the LFG platform to: post false or misleading information; harass, threaten, or abuse other users; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform; scrape or harvest data in bulk without permission; or engage in any activity that violates New Zealand law. LFG reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand).

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LFG and its team members shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or reliance on any content published by LFG. This limitation applies regardless of the form of action and whether LFG has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from your use of the LFG platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
